Cashier (maternity cover)

Summary of Position and Key Responsibilities:

Cashier will report to the Senior Finance Officer and will work closely with all University staff. This role focuses on maintaining efficient financial record-keeping related to student fees, payment and other cash and bank transactions. This is a temporary position for the replacement of the main employee during the maternity leave.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Treasury & Financial Operations

• Record transactions associated with fee collection and other incoming funds and generate weekly financial reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for cash and bank transactions, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Perform daily cash counts and reconciliations.
• Monitor and document all approved payments and conduct cash replenishment as necessary.
• Prepare payment vouchers and related financial documentation efficiently.
• Implement treasury policies and controls to safeguard assets.

Other Financial Duties

• Payment verification - perform validation, review, and approval of financial vouchers to ensure accuracy and compliance withing the established UCA policies, statutory requirements and delegation of authority.
• Audit support – provide relevant support during the external and internal audits.
• Student Life Cycle Module transactions management and reconciliation, group postings, clearing control and other relevant financial operations related to UCA schools.
• Substitution of colleagues when requested by line manager.
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• University degree in the field of Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar from a reputed institution;
• Minimum 2 years of professional working experience in a similar position or in an international working environment;
• Fair command on written and spoken English and Russian and/or national languages;
• Good command of Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple tasks successfully;
• Strong interpersonal communication skills;
• Qualification such as CAP/CIPA is advantage;
• Customer / stakeholders service experience is advantage;
