Bison Logistics LLC is an asset-based carrier running 20 power units and we haul produce freight.

The Role

You'll own a board of [8–12] reefer trucks — booking the freight, planning the weeks, and keeping drivers moving profitably. Reefer isn't dry van: appointment windows are tight, receivers are unforgiving, and a blown setpoint is a claim.

What You'll Do

• Source and book loads on DAT and direct broker/shipper relationships; negotiate rates and secure rate confirmations
• Plan multi-stop and multi-day trips around HOS, delivery windows, and reload opportunities.
• Confirm temperature setpoint, continuous vs. cycle-sentry, and pre-cool requirements on every load before dispatch
• Handle exceptions: breakdowns, Thermo King unit failures and alarm codes, rejected loads, temperature claims, and OS&D — including pulling and submitting temperature download reports
• Maintain broker relationships and run credit checks; escalate slow-pay and non-pay accounts

What You Need

• [2]+ years of dispatch experience (reefer experience is preferred)
• Working knowledge of FMCSA hours-of-service rules and ELD compliance
• Proven load board negotiation — you know what a lane is worth and you don't take the first offer
• Comfort with reefer fundamentals: setpoints, continuous vs. start-stop, pre-cooling, pulp temps, food-grade requirements
• Strong written and verbal English
• Ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure — produce season doesn't wait

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM CST], with rotating weekend hours and weekend on-call coverage. Reefer freight moves seven days a week — we split coverage so nobody carries it alone.
